Your Green Rewards...And How You Earn Them

Electric Vehicle ChargingYour Green Reward can be one of the following:

Solar Panel
A 1kw roof-mounted solar installation. An installation of this size could go on any house or building. We will work with the Challenge sponsor to ensure the chosen location meets the requirements for effective generation. Future rewards could add panels to the initial solar roof, or be installed at a new location.
Points required: 10,000.

Wind Turbine
A 1kw "microturbine", including installation. A turbine of this size is small enough to be installed in any residential or business neighborhood. We will work with the Challenge sponsor to make sure the chosen location has enough wind resources for effective generation.
Points required: 10,000.

Electric Vehicle Charging Station
This is becoming the latest status symbol for locations looking to become a "destination" for the new generation of electric cars that began hitting the market this year. Makes you a destination for anyone within 100 miles, the effective range of most new vehicles. Drivers can take time to dine or shop in your community while they fuel up for the trip home.
Points required: 10,000.

Energy Audit
This reward can be broken down into a number of smaller residential audits, or one major commercial audit. Gives you a great way to build on the savings for members who join the challenge by showing them new ways to save energy, and money, in their homes or business.
Points required: 4,000.

How You Earn

Energy plans are based on usage, so each member who signs up earns points each month when their energy bill is paid. A typical residence will earn anywhere from half a point to two points per month for your Challenge. A small business, like a storefront or a restaurant, can earn five to ten times this amount. A single large commercial business, or a residential group with a few hundred residents, can earn enough points to put you over the top all by themselves.

This is the idea behind the Challenge: every contribution counts. Individual homeowners or renters can spread the word to their neighbors, their co-workers or fellow members of their local organizations. People who sign up to save money at home may spread the Challenge to their business as well.

Once You Get Started...

...it doesn't have to stop there. The Challenge is a great way for local businesses to promote themselves to watching eyes. Anyone in your community is welcome to join the Challenge as an Alliance Partner. They can add deals to the Challenge which will support their business, and create new offers which generate new points, as well. Before you know it, there will be solar panels and wind turbines sprouting up everywhere you look.
